- Audit: inventory everything on the source platform (content types, users, media, URLs, integrations).
- Map: agree how each item lands in WordPress.
- Script: a WP-CLI importer that pulls from the source API or exports, repeatably.
- Test runs on staging: you verify courses, orders and accounts before anything goes live.
- Cutover: a final delta import, 301 redirects and DNS switch in a planned window.

Questions I get asked
Will students or customers need to reset passwords?
It depends on the source platform. Some allow password-hash export and most don't. In that case I set up a smooth first-login reset flow and a clear email to users.
Will I lose my Google rankings?
Not if URLs are mapped. Every old URL gets a 301 redirect to its new equivalent, and I check Search Console after launch.
Can we run both platforms during the move?
Yes. Test runs happen on staging while your current platform stays live, and a final delta import catches anything new before cutover.
Do you migrate payment subscriptions?
Subscription migration depends on the payment gateway (e.g. Stripe token portability). I'll check feasibility during the audit.
